Day 9 ~ Princeton, NJ to Richmond, Virginia to Roanoke

We got an early start from Princeton and hung out with my friend Josh at the Whole Earth Center where he's the produce guy. Then we headed south to see Jordan in Richmond. Traffic outsdie Washington D.C. was a nightmare and it took us 4 hours to travel 100 miles! Our visit with Jordan was short. Then headed on to Roanoke and completed the journey today in Nashville.

Day 8 ~ Acadia to New Jersey

We were going to get an early start on the road but we woke up and saw the sun and decided to visit Acadia one more time. On our way back south we stopped in Blue Hill at the Fishnet for a lobster roll, scallop roll and fresh blueberries. Then on to Princeton, New Jersey. We got stuck in a traffic jam in New York at the George Washington Bridge and did not get to our hotel until close to midnight!

Day 7 ~ Acadia and Downeast Maine

Started out the day exploring the coastline of Acadia National Park. We then went to Thurston's in Bernard for clams and lobster rolls as the fog settled in for the day. We hit Bass Harbor Lighthouse and then headed up Route 1 downeast to Lubec. And we found fudge on the way! We walked the beach at West Quoddy Head, the easternmost point in the US, and collected rocks. Did I menton it was foggy?

Day 6 ~ Maine

Set out for Maine this morning. We walked around Portland for a while then headed up to Freeport to check out L.L. Bean. Then on to Wiscasset to try the best lobster roll in Maine at Red's Eats. And, it was the best so far ths trip, even with the looooooooong wait in line. Move over Woodman's! We had a beautiful drive up the coast and stopped to see Captain Buck's tomb in Bucksport; very scary! > http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/6159 We arived in Acadia just in time to check in to our humble lodgings, drve up Cadillac Mountain to see the sunset and to Bar Harbor for some cheap eats with Elvis. Acadia tomorrow!
